I learned so much this week. Even though some parts were challenging, it challenged me to work harder to get it right. The first thing I learned was that RSS feeds actually exist. I had never heard of them until this assignment and now see their reliance in making our lives a little easier. I now see the RSS icon at almost every website I go to.
I was also introduced to a wonderful little tool called Goodreads. I wish I knew about this site about two years ago when I took Children's Literature at BYU-Idaho. I love how we are able to share so many great books with so many great people. I will definitely continue to use this site in the future. It is too beneficial not to use. I would like to use it in my classroom, but right now I can't think of a way, but I'm sure I'll figure something out.
Since I am still learning about RSS feeds, Goodreads, and the other Web 2.0 tools, I'm unsure of how I would use them as an educator. I would like to use blogs with my students, considering I have students who have access to a blog, and possibly give instructions on assignments and links to fun learning websites they wouldn't know about. I can also use blogs to share my teaching experiences with other teachers and the same for them because I'm sure I can learn a lot from them.
This has been a good week and I look forward to learning more about how to use technology beneficially in my classroom.
