WOW! This was a challenging but awesome assignment. I get on youtube sometimes and have always wondered how to post a video online that I have actually created. I also learned a lot from looking at others videos. I looked at Courtney Lee's video and it answered my question of how to do a story book trailer. I learned that a book trailer is very similar to a movie trailer—except the pictures does not move. I also looked at Whitney Shannon's blog and she had great pictures for her poetry interpretation. Again I didn’t really know how to do a poetry interpretation, and now I have a better idea for the future. Finally, I looked at Madelyne Wayment's video and was very impressed with her idea. First, her blog design is very teacher appropriate! (I might have to steal her idea!) Also I thought her idea of an interview was great! It really just goes beyond just reading the story. Doing this in the classroom can really get the kids involved and thinking about both sides of the story.
Because I really liked Madelyn's idea for an interview with the Tortoise and the Hare, I could use the similar idea with another story for 3rd graders or any grade really. We could use it n science and when learning something like the invention of the light bulb or the TV. I could have my students research each subject and then they could act like the inverters. I could then create a video (like Madelyne) with just the picture but the interview in the background. I think this would be a great way to get the kids to invest more in what we are studying.

Healthly Eating Storyboard!!!
I have always wanted to learn what we are currently learning. I see these sorts of things a lot and have always wondered how they put those things together. I started this part of the assignment last week but did not feel confident in what I had chosen to do. I did not procrastinate the assignment because more and more things kept filling my "plate" making tonight the only time I had to finish the assignment. I like what Reagen and I have chosen to do. Our public service announcement is geared towards parents and the importance of their children eating right. I hope it fits the requirements. Enjoy!
